Anthony Mackie will transfer his West End production of Macbeth to Broadway, coming back to live theatre after a long absence. He will play the title role, with the run scheduled to continue until July 2027.

The production began its run in the West End before the Broadway transfer was confirmed by entertainment outlets. The move represents a big shift for a performer largely absent from the stage in recent years.

After his Broadway run concludes, Mackie has confirmed he will film Avengers: Secret Wars, scheduling the blockbuster in after his stage work is complete.
