The BC NDP leader is defending his use of the childcare program. Critics claim that his family exceeds the income limit for the subsidy. The leader explains that his wife stayed time off without pay for cancer treatment. This allowed them to qualify for the help. He asserts his family returned the funds to the system. The goal was to support other families. During a stop in North Delta, he promised a new urgent care centre. He also wants a new BC shipyard. He contrasted his vision to the Conservative candidate who wants tax cuts.
