A strong earthquake hit New Zealand towards the end of July 25. The tremors reached Auckland but no injuries or destruction were reported yet. In California, a smaller 2.1 quake struck near Ocotillo Wells the previous day. Continuing aftershocks keep hitting Venezuela after the country’s latest strong quakes. A large number of people are trapped under debris as rescue and medical teams operate around the clock. PAHO says hospitals require immediate assistance to address upcoming emergencies.
