Ed Husic, the Australian Minister for Industry and Science, lamented Labour’s internal workings after his initiative to open a debate on recognising Gaza was rejected.
Prime Minister Anthony Albanese allegedly described his statement at a meeting as incompetent.
Husic responded by saying he was unbothered by criticism, telling reporters: "put me in a freezer, I don't care at all."
The dispute followed previous efforts to push the party to declare events in Gaza as genocide.
Leaked files and internal files were later filed that revealed sharp splits within Labour’s ranks over strategy and leadership.
