ITV News reported on 9 October that the UK and its allies threw their support behind the International Criminal Court in response to US sanctions directed at the tribunal. The move highlights a growing rift between Washington and its traditional partners over the court's authority.

The decision by allied governments to side with the court came shortly after the US introduced restrictive measures against the body. Political commentators suggest that the divide may put pressure on longstanding diplomatic relationships between Washington and its allies.

Separately, King Charles covered the restoration costs for Prince Andrew. The arrangement prompted comment given the continued uncertainty surrounding the prince's public role.

The PSNI also issued written notice to Northern Ireland First Minister Michelle O'Neill in connection with a Garvaghy Road protest linked to the long-running Drumcree dispute. The letter suggests the possibility of a formal police interview, bringing fresh tension to a dispute that has remained unresolved for years.
