The Minnesota Lynx defeated the Golden State Valkyries twice in late August. Minnesota won 77-66 on Aug. 19. The teams met again Aug. 24 at Target Center. Minnesota maintained the top seed. They were undefeated against Golden State yet. Courtney Williams was sidelined. Her right foot was injured. Without Williams on the court, Minnesota was unable to get the top seed in that game.
