Stargazers can now spot the first Perseid meteors ahead of the main event. The shower peaks in middle of August next year. Early sightings will be hard, though. The glowing moon now washes out faint streaks. Head into darker hours near the peak. The best views come from dark sky spots away from cities. Clear nights could show up to 100 streaks per hour at the most intense stretch.
