Peter Navarro, a Trump trade adviser, has asked Canadian lobbyists to avoid the U.S., according to several accounts. Navarro's remarks were part of a larger warning advising Canada not to interfere in the U.S. midterm elections. The Prime Minister of Canada, Justin Trudeau, has declined to apply further trade pressure, despite Navarro's messages. The incident has sparked a diplomatic incident between the two countries.
