Sami Zayn took the Undisputed WWE Championship by beating CM Punk. That result was settled on the September 11 Friday Night SmackDown in Mexico City. Fox News also reported the title change.

Zayn left with the title after the fight as the new champion. The SmackDown main event finished with Zayn holding the belt in the ring. No other match details came out by the company. That turned out to be the September 11 edition of the weekly program.
