Newt Gingrich described the recent midterm election as healthy for the United States. He warned that Democrats risk failure in 2028 if they pursue a hard-left agenda without collaborating with President Trump. He stressed that party cohesion and realistic strategies will outweigh speculative narratives. Gingrich also claimed that the 2028 Republican presidential contest may not be as broad as many predict, diminishing the impact of the midterm losses on the GOP field. The race’s openness will depend on candidate filing deadlines and voter participation, he said.
